Mental Wellness Webinars

continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation. The mental wellness of our community is our top priority during these challenging times. The Wellness and Learning Initiatives team is working hard to fulfill our promise to support each individual’s mental health by offering live webinars for students as well as our partners’ staff, which are overwhelmingly well attended. The Wellness and Learning Initiatives Team will continue to waive the associated fees for this service until it is safe to resume face-to-face seminars and workshops. We want to make sure that everyone has access to relevant support and advice during these uncertain times because CARES.

Managing the stress of meeting face-to-face again
We have all spent the last several weeks facing several challenges: the decline of client demand, unemployment, school interruptions, postponed events, cancelled plans, and increased uncertainty. Through this pandemic we have truly demonstrated our strength and resiliency, adapting to "new" routines, schedules, isolation, and even technology, with unity and perseverance. We have come to accept it as our new "normal". Now we find ourselves needing to adjust yet again as we transition from an at-home work routine to working in an office once more. While the adjustments (or even the anticipation) may initially be overwhelming, this webinar will look at a few tips and strategies to making the transition from virtual interactions to face-to-face interaction as painless as possible.

When plans change: Managing disappointment and becoming resilient (Intended for Post-Secondary Students)
Any life is a life of change. We experience transitions in work and relationships, changes in our physical and mental health, and new events in our school communities and even in our world. Sometimes we know a change is going to happen, while other times it comes suddenly and unexpectedly. Maybe it is a disappointment, or maybe it is a wonderful surprise. As we start to re-adjust from online instruction, isolation, and physical distancing to a "new normal", this webinar will explore a few healthy practices for increasing your level of resilience and coping with change and disappointment.
